About Nermo

Nermo Hotell is a family run hotel in Øyer og and closest neighbour to Hafjell and Lillehammer. We have 31 rooms and 53 apartments and we are unique because of our personal service, unique rooms and homemade food.

Nermo is quiet. The hotel is therefore perfect for groups who needs peaceful working environment. Here you can work undisturbed, eat and sleep well.  Nermo Hotell have many meeting rooms, a good wine cellar and maybe one of the countrys best hotel beds. We can take up to 100 guests. That is why Nermo often is the venue of weddings, anniversarys, memorials and other special occasions.

Active familys often chose Nermo as a base. We are located close to all the activities Hafjell and Hunderfossen can offer. We also have our own golf course and

Nermo is a good place to be.

The family of Johannes Nermo took over Nermo Farm in 1866. Hunters and fishermen came to the farms seter up in the mountains for room rental. Thor Heyerdahls family was one of them.

The travellers appreciated the hospitality and the food at Nermo and in 1923 the farm had become a popular pension. In 1932 the entire farm burned down and only the storehouse was saved.  The hotel was quickly build up again and in 1933 Nermo Hotell was one of the most modern buildings with sentral warming and hot and cold water in every room.

During the 2nd World War the hotel was taken by the Germans. After the war there was few people travelling and the hotel building was  leased out as a school for deaf children, before the hotel in 1970 was opened as a pension again.

In 1988 Lillehammer was chosen to be host for the 1994 Winter Olympics. That was the kick start for full hotel business. Since then the hotel have become more and more popular for leisure tourists visiting Hunderfossen and Hafjell, meetings and conferences, weddings and other special occasions.

Nermo Farm had great land around the hotel that used to be potato and corn fileds. In 2001 Hafjell golf course was opened. The course surrounds the hotel with beautiful environments and fabolous view.

Today you can in addiotion to the golf course try Scandinavias only 18 whole putting course on real grass. A popular activity for many between meetings and a homemade meal.
