Road cycling in Gudbrandsdalen

Flat valley sections, challenging climbs, and Tour of Norway routes.

Gudbrandsdalen is one of Norway’s best regions for road cycling. The Tour of Norway has passed through Lillehammer and Øyer on several occasions, and the roads in the valley combine flat stretches along the river Lågen with challenging climbs up towards the mountain farms.

From Nermo Hotel, you can cycle leisurely along the valley floor towards Lillehammer, or add elevation up towards Hafjell, Ilsetra, and further on to Pellestova at almost 1,000 metres above sea level. Gravel bikes are well suited to the area, and from 2025 Favn Bike Rental offers gravel bike rentals.
