Historic dinner at Hornsjø Sæter

Today, chefs welcome you to a traditional, old-fashioned feast in the Seter house.

The Nermo Hotel family has sent milkmaids and livestock to Hornsjø Sæter for generations. The mountain road is the same, and the Seter house dates back to around 1850. The journey begins in the village, with a drive into the mountains accompanied by stories along the way. At the summer farm, you are welcomed by a milkmaid in traditional dress and a glass of sparkling wine on the farmyard.

A meal you won’t find anywhere else

Inside, a traditional feast is set. Chefs from Restaurant Nermostuene prepare a meal made from what can be found in the surrounding mountains. Local ingredients in the most literal sense, served in surroundings that have seen little change for 170 years.

You can also add an activity to your experience. In summer, livestock graze in the area and there are great hiking opportunities around the summer farm. In winter, you can walk or snowshoe into the farm before dinner, letting the meal taste even better after an hour in the quiet mountain landscape.
